Demeter set her bag down on the bed. Nothing had changed since she was gone. The bed was the same. The curtins were the same. Everything stayed like it was. She smiled to herself and drew her wigns around her. She went to the window and peeked out at the mountains and woods below, it brought back to many memories to count. She sighed softly and went back to sit on her bed. "Even nearly a year couldnt change this place." She whispered softly. To bad she couldnt say the same for herself. She had chaned a lot, mostly on the inside.

Angel had heard rumors of the new girl to the mansion. He could swear up and down that he'd heard the name of his old love floating on their lips. His heart pounded loudly for everyone to hear as he neared the room she had used before. His hand shook as he lifted his arm to knock on the door. he took a deep breathe and bit his lower lip like he always did. He knocked adn waited for an answer. Please let it be her. Please let it be her. He repeated over and over, hoping his wishing would for once come true.

Demeter looked at the door. "Come in." she said softly, expecting Brittney or one of the teachers to come and question her again. Her thoughts had been a blurr for the past few hours. Only one person was on her mind, but she was sure he had moved on and left this place behind.

Angel heard the familiar voice and wanted to faint. He forced himself to turn the knob and walk in even though his knees wanted to buckle so badly. He looked at her as she stood near the bed. His lip bled from the intensity of his bite. She was as beautiful as he remembered, if possible she was more beautiful than before. She had never left him that day one year ago, even though she technically did. She was all he thought about, for the first few weeks he refused to da anything. He sat in his room in a sort of daze, allowing no one to peirce his perfect dreams of her. He cried like a girl when the pain became to much to bear, but he enjoyed the feeling...it made him feel alive. It took months to master the art of pretending, to be able to make everyone beleive in the facade that he had made, but all the while she was all he thought about.

She was sure her heart stopped as he walked in the door. Everything raced in her mind. Is he angry that i came back? Is he glad I'm here? Does he even remember everything? Everything seemed to start spinning. She would let herself move, with her luck she'd fall over. "An.." she started to say his name, but couldnt. "Angel I'm sorry." that was all she could say. she wanted to add how much she still loved him How she never stopped thinking about him, his touch, his voice. She wanted to tell him how she never meant to hurt him when she left and that it was to find out who she was and she didnt want him in danger, but she didnt. She just stood there. Dazed and ignoring the tears starting to roll down her cheeks.

"Angel, I'm sorry." Her words were all he heard. It was as if he had just been transported into an alternate universe. Everything was coming back to him, the caves, the kitchen, the roof...everything. He had so much to say to her, to ask her, but his words caught in his throat. He took a step toward her on shaky legs. He craned his neck and bent his knees slightly. He plantd a tender kiss on her lips, trying to erase the hurt that was making its presence known again. Angel just wanted to have her in his arms again, but he wasn't sure if she felt the same. Granted she was here, she wasn't an illusion like so many times before. She was real...she was real.

Demeter was slightly taken by surprise when he kissed her. She quickly gave in, kissing him back without hesitation. This was what she wanted after all, an answer to her question if he still felt the same. She was the one to break the kiss, almost unwillingly. "I..." She watched his eyes, searching for anything to tell her what he might be thinking. She froze, not knowing what to say. She had so much to tell him, but couldnt find the words.

Angel just looked at her. "Just tell me why." he said. "I wat the truth, I deserve the truth." He was never told the real reason to her departure, just that she had to go. He wanted to know why and he would press as hard as he needed to in order to get it out of her. "Please, just tell me."

"I ..." She took in a deep breath, closing her eyes. "I had to find out who I am, Angel" She looked at him, then toward the floor. "I found out about a week before I left about some awful things I did." She looked back at him. "The same camps I was put in I put childern in." She said. "I was a helper in that place." She closed her eyes for a moment then held out hand out slightly to him. "I can show you who I am." She said. She had gotten pretty good at transfering visions. "Who I once was. What I saw.... the reason I left." She kept her hand out slightly, woundering if he'd let her give him the visions of if he would tell her it made no difference.

Angel continued to stare at her. She was so beautiful, it actually hurt. "You never gave me a choice." he said. "I could have gone with you, I could have been there for you. You never gave me the choice." He repeated. It was killing him to know that she felt that she had to hide her reasons from him. Angel took her hand to save him the hurt of walking away.

"Angel, if you would have went with me what I'm about to show you will only be ten times worse." She whispered. She closed her eyes and gave his hand a small squeeze. she gave him the visions slowly at first then made them fly by, hoping they wouldnt hurt him to bad. He could feel and see everything she saw, as if he was there. First flashed to the train she took across the country, flying was to obvious. Then to the camps, now burnt to the ground and aging. Her own thoughts at the time were of the beatings, rapes, torture, and more that she had seen and been through there. Then the vision moved to her dead husbands grave, not feeling a bit of remorse toward him. It skipped around to the places she stayed, mostly hotels with basic cable, to the people who feared or care for her. Even a small glimpse of several cops coming after her flashed into his mind. The thing that lingered was the package she had received a week or so before she left. The wedding ring, the files, the pictures, all of it taunted her. She finally pulled back, feeling a bit sleepy, but nothing more. "I was married to one of the men in the camps." She said, trying not to look into his eyes. "I helped put those people in the place I dreaded the most. I took children from their beds!" She said, her voice rising. "I'm the reason so many died and I left so you wouldnt be another death on my list."

"I can handle myself. You saw that when I fought the guy with the metal wings. Do you know what I went through when you left? I walked around this place half-dead. I worried constantly about what you were doing who you were seeing, if you were even alive. I love you, I would have done everything in my powere to keep you, but I never got the chace to proe that to you. You left before I could and I locked up whatever i felt for you. i kept it hidden so I could never contaminate it. God, Demeter, I never got over you. I never will. I'm yours, that is not going to change. But the trust that we once had, the understanding that we once had has been damaged. I don't know if you'll run again. I wish you could promise me that you won't, but I'm not sure you can." Angel paused to kiss her. "Can you?" he asked calmly.

The trust that we once had, the understanding that we once had has been damaged, his words echoed in her mind and tore at her heart. It was true she deserved it, but she wasnt expecting it so soon. Demeter closed her eyes and started to cry slowly. "I never meant to leave you the first time." She whispered. "I love you... I never stopped loving you." She opened her eyes and looked at him. "Even if I promise you, you have no right to believe me." she took in a small, shallow breath. "For what ever its worth, I promise. I promise I wont leave... I couldnt even if I wanted to. My life's here.... you're here." she looked at his eyes, trying to see if something, anything was there.

"Don't cry." Angel whispered. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead. He never wanted to upset her, it hadn't been his intention to do so. He just wanted her to understand him, understand the intenity of his pain. He loved her, there was no doubt about that, he was just hurting. "Will you do me a favor?" He asked. He wanted to feel her again. he wanted things to be like they were when they first met, when they had been in the caves.

Demeter pulled back just enough to look at him as a reply. She nodded, not trusting herself to say a word. She wiped away the already drying tears on her cheek as she looked at him.
