Demeter finally drifted off to sleep, dawn still hours away. Normally she would slumber in peace and silence, but lately, and like now, she dreamed a nightmare of something she couldnt explain. She tossed a gun down from her side, its barrel still smoking from the last shot fired. She fell to her knees and looked at the man before her. She snatched the gun, though no bullets were to be found in its chamber. She threw it at his head, only missing by an inch or so. She wasnt a bit surprised when the man neatly kicked her in the face, sending her to the ground. She was then picked up by her throat, only inches from the man's face. Demeter wrinkled her nose at the smell of his breath, wild whiskey and self roll cigars. "just like your mother." The voice echoed. Demeter struck out, catching the man in the side of the face; followed by a crunching sound.Demeter woke up sharply, nearly screaming at the deep, surging pain in her hand. She quickly jerked her right hand out of the wall by her bed. She had punched a hole into the thin plaster like material during her dream. She sat up and looked at her fist. Her knuckled were scratched and 2 or 3 were bleeding. She muttered a curse under her breath and tried to dust off the wall chips from her hand. * * * After a moment she pulled her robe around her white, silk gown and headed downstairs, thinking everyone was asleep. she started making herself some coffee, desperately wanting something stronger, but passed on the thought. she sat down at the table and rested her head on her arms.

Logan moved into the kitchen, dispite the fact he was now Headmaster he still snuck his beer into the school, late at night. He sniffed at the air as he entered smelling Demeter's scent, blood and plaster dust. He looked at her with his usual unsmiling face. "You get into a fight with a wall darlin'?" Seeming to read her past thought he took a beer from the box sliding it to her as he sat down opening one for himself. "Care to talk about what the big bad wall did to you?"

Demeter looked up at him when he spoke to her. She gave a soft chuckle at his last statement. "I'm fine, Logan." she said with a soft smile. "just a dream... I'll pay for the wall, dont worry." she added, she knew how much this school ment to him and the others. She gave a small sigh and looked at the beer before her... she really shouldnt drink it but after the night shes had, what could it hurt?

Logan drank a bit of his beer then looked at her's. "You know darlin' I'm not trying to get you on drinking. It's only one and I think you could use it I'm not going to say anything." He sniffed at the air and then turned an ear toward the stairs. "Were completely alone as for the wall you know how often one of us X-Men has....had an accident? An between you and me a few of mine weren't accidents I just lost my temper"
He looked to the girl's knuckles, "doesn't look to bad forget the wall darlin', care to talk about this dream?"

Demeter sighed and looked at her hand. A few knucles were swollen, but nothing else. "Just a..." she trailed off. "I think it was a vision... but not about me." She muttered. She opened the beer with little trouble and took a long drink.

Logan eyed her for a moment he couldn't remember if having visions of the future. Had been one of her powers he shook his head and spoke. Before she started thinking something was wrong with him. "Well darlin' if your visions are anything like my dreams of my formerly shadowed past. There not something to take lightly." He took another drink of his beer thinking he ought to reread the file they had on her.
"What are you planning to do about this vision?"

She made a sore face as she set the beer down. "Ignore it." She shrugged. "I've never had a vision about someone else." she said, her voice a bit shaky. She was scared at the thought of what this dream could mean. She sighed and moved the beer from hand to hand, sliding it on the table.

Logan frowned at Demeter as he drank a bit more beer. "I don't know if any of the kids told you about our second trip to Alkali Lake, but..." He stopped, and drained the rest of the beer in his current bottle and opened another, drinking more before continuing. "...I had to kill a woman that seemed to know me. At the time I didn't remember her, but recently I regained my lost memories and she was a woman I loved." He stopped again and took another long drink of his beer looking over at Demeter.
"I... ignored something she felt was important and we were both changed. It might not seem important to you now, but were the X-Men we help people... even the unimportant ones." Logan sniffed as he took a small drink for a change. He could smell her fear and he knew a little of her past. "Demeter were more alike then you know that man..." He didn't finish shaking his head.
"It doesn't matter Demeter you came back. Your not the same girl don't be afraid under this roof your under my protection even from other mutants."

She listened to his story, feeling remorse for him. She couldnt imagen killing the one person in the world who she cared for. Though at the moment no one came to mind... not even Angel (who never posts lol) Demeter recoiled at his last words. 'Not the same girl'... you have no idea. She thought to herself. "I'm not afraid of everyone else... I'm afraid of myself." she said, her voice shaky and weak. She wanted to get out of here.... go anywhere but this place. "I've killed so many people, without even knowing it.... I took childern from their beds for crying out loud, Logan!" She said her voice rising to show her fear and anger toward herself.

Logan actually smiled some looking over at her. "You only fear yourself huh?" He dropped his smile knowing it wasn't really proper. "I told Ororo to close your file when you came back. That's why no one is giving you a hard time. I didn't want you living through what I do."
"Darlin' however many you killed I had you beat before you were born. I'm over a hundred years old and forget dragging kids from there beds." He brought up his hands and rubbed the areas where his claws came out. His head down no longer looking her in the eyes. "I helped Sabretooth do much worse. There are grandparents in mental hospitals over just hearing half the stuff we did."
He looked back up at her still rubbing at the spaces between his knuckles. Where just under the skin were the points of his claws. "I have like two life times worth of killings to atone for. We can't change our past, but together we can see that such things never happen again." He took a breath and drank the rest of second beer. "You know I met Hitler when he was private in that first war."
He wasn't comfortible with what he had told her and was trying to change the subject.

Demeter couldnt meet his eyes as they spoke. She felt sick to her stomach, thinking back at everything. After he finished talking she remained silent for a moment, still letting her tired mind drift away. She was a bit thankful he changed the subject, but there were a lot of things she wanted to know. She sighed and looked at him. She gave a faint grin. "Do you always drink this early in the morning?" she joked, trying to ease the mood she felt that she had messed up in the first place.

He looked to the case of beer it had been a case of 12, but there were only 5 left in the box. He picked up the three empties smiling over at her as he put them into the box. "It's only morning after you wakeup this stuff don't do anything to me. It's cause of the d**n healing factor saved my life countless times, but I can't get drunk just my luck huh?" He stood up and started to slip out of the room, but turned back to her. "If your going to do anything about that vision see Jean.
She could help you see any parts you might of missed. Not sure how they work for you and if you need my claws you know where I am."

Demeter looked down at the table when he said Jean's name. The last time they had a meeting it didnt go so well. She gave him a nod and then looked at the half drunk beer before her. She wanted to finish it, get drunk with a few more and then sleep for a few years, hopefully without dreams, but it would never happen.
