If someone were in the ally ways of Manhattan around one every morning they would begin to notice an odd trend. A pink haired girl in an over sized trench would slide out of one of the drains or man holes in the area every night about that time. She would fish a beanie out of one pocket, with a glove clad hand- though the fingers of the gloves were cut out. She would then pull the beanie on and down low over her forehead. With a look around, and a straightening of her coat and gloves she would quickly walk off into the city.
Around three she would return, just as quietly as her arrival, with a two or three bags every night. Some nights they obviously held food, others clothing, and on other nights... well it would be harder to tell. She would slip back down into the sewers and not be seen again until the next morning.
Tonight was different though.
The girl wasn't carrying anything, her hat was missing, and she was at a dead sprint. "nuts, nuts, nuts..." A cross between fright and pure excitement was on her face. She stopped for a moment, ducking into another ally, to catch her breath. Then two men rounded the corner. She didn't see them, but she smelt them.
She took off again. The calls of the men coming after her. "f**kin' thief!" "She went that way..." And so on.
She had gotten turned around when running from the men though and found herself at a dead end. No big though, must had drains. Most... not all. A cry of outrage burst from her as she kicked the wall. She turned, left with nothing to do but face the men.
One had a baseball bat, the other a gun.

But behind the men in the shadows, stood a figure that couldn't be made out.... all that could be seen was a red glow from his eyes... Staying mostly in the dark, he sayed to the two men, "I don't believe the weapons are going to be necesary boys. Why don't you put them away and just leave this person to me, huh?"
He didn't know what she had done to them, but knew who she was and by luck, he was passing over head when her noticed all the commotion...

Sarah turned toward the two men. Her face clam, but excitement in her eyes. She reached up one sleeve of her coat, a cracking sound echoed in the ally. It was a disgusting sound, the men cringed. The sleeve of her trench quickly darkened with her blood as she pulled a bone, forearm length, slightly curved, and deadly sharp.
That, is when she heard the voice. She quickly scanned the area, seeing his eyes hers narrowed, peering into the darkness. She could just make out the figure of her other... pursuer?
The two men turned, scared now. "Who's there?!"

Calvin walked a little bit closer, still hiden by the shadows but the red glow in his eyes grew brighte.... You could hear the slight sound of his claws released and as he approached he spoke, "I am noone of your concern... all you need to do is get out of here cause I don't really want anyone to get hurt.... you two have walked into the wrong situation right now...."
You could easily see how scared the two men were and before Calvin could even finish, the man with the knife went running, leaving the man with the gun by himself... The man replied, "she stole from us.... we want it back...". But as the glow of Calvin's eyes got brighter he started to rethink the situation. He then noticed the cracking noise from the mysteious theif and felt it was time to leave... withou warning he went tearing down the ally past Calvin...
With the two men gone now, Calvin turned his head to the mysterious girl who he recognized from some time ago... "Well, are we going to have a problem now... I am really here just to talk..." he said as he approched her

The men took off, but Sarah's grip on her bone blade didn't loosen. "I could've handled 'em." She wasn't about to thank this person, she didn't know if they were going to try jumping her next.
Sarah stood there, the dead end of the ally behind her. She was tense, ready for anything. What he said caught her a bit off guard though. "Talk? You want ta talk?" She laughed then, harshly. "This ain't no tea party. What do ya want?" She lowered the bone blade a bit, none of the tenseness left though.

"Oh I know exactly what this is and believe it or not I am not here to fight you.... I say the two men chasing you from above and felt that I should intervene, even though you say you could have handled it..." He replied while stepping foward into the light and exposing who he was.... "I am not too sure you remember me but I remember you.... Our paths have crossed several times in the past"

Sarah smirked, studying the man before her. "Oh yes, didn't you look different last time I saw you? Wings I think." She studied him for a moment. "Mimic, right? Though I don't think we got any farther than those names."
"Do you always lookout for the poor, defenseless women of Manhattan by following them home?" She grinned, it was mischievous with just a touch of insane.

"Yes well I am sure I looked different... I did have wings before, but I decided to upgrade and ditch em. They always seemed to get in the way... and I think all we really got to was names.... Marrow, right?" He said while giving her a half smile
"I just happen to be in the area and saw the commotion... once I noticed it was you, I figured you could handle it, but I intervened anyway.... So as for me being on the lookout, I guess you could say yes... but the questionis, what are you doing out here so late?"

"Yeah, thats right." Was her only response to hearing her name. "I'm always out at this time. Usually the safest time for me to be out, less people and its dark. When one is noticeably different it draws attention. I try to avoid that attention, I don't need it. Also, I was pickin' a few things up." She shrugs. "And because of those two", she points off to where the two men ran off to, "I didn't get to eat tonight."

"Well I have food on me if you want some... it is in my bag over there." He replied while pointing behind him at a big duffle bag in the corner, "but you probably would accept it huh?"

She glared at the bag he pointed off to, then at him. "I won't accept it, eh? Either you already know to much about me or were just being thingyy." He was right she wouldn't have accepted it, except now that he said what he did... well she took it as a challenge. Sarah never backs down from a challenge. "What ya got?"

Calvin turned toward the bag and walked over to it..."I got some leftovers from a family picnic... nothing too crazy. Just some burgers and brats.... Oh, and also some potato salad.... Family made it... They always make me take food with me..." he laughed a bit as he bent down and pulled a wrapped plate from the bag.... taking it out, he handed it up to her..."Here, if you want?"

((Sorry it took me so long to get this up. There have been problems at home.))
She took the plate from him hesitantly. "Thanks."
She stood there for a moment, not sure what to do. "Uh... I don't know if you care to stay or not. If ya do though, it would be easier for me ta eat if we went somewhere I could sit at." She didn't pose it as a question, though it was. It was her way of asking if he would like to join her while she ate.

He stood up grabbing his bag and looked at her, "Sure... I have got some time still on my hands.... we could go somewhere to sit down if you really want too...." he then took a look around.... "I am not too familiar with the places in this area so you better lead the way..."
((don't worry about it... hope all is ok))

Sarah nodded. She wasn't sure where to take him. The quickest, and easiest, place to go was her hideout/home. But then again, it is also her hideout/home. She didn't need to bring people to her doorstep. That was asking for trouble. The next place she could think of was a bit of a walk away, and she was hungry. She groaned. "Look, we are goin' back to my place. I don't normally let anyone in there, so keep quiet about it."
She waited until he had his stuff then set off. The walk wasn't too long, but it did involve many turns, she threw in a few extra also. Never can be too careful. The she stopped at a manhole and slid the covering aside. "Uh, you don't mind do ya?" She pointed down. She knew many up worlders didn't think much of the sewers... but it's home to her.
